The Amy Moten Sexual and Reproductive Health Service Award
Dr Amy Moten
Amy was a dedicated, skilled GP, and educator, who has a passion for improving sexual and reproductive healthcare, drive by her conviction about rights and a desire to improve the well-being of others. Amy's tireless commitment extended beyond her clinical duties. She was committed to providing education to fellow healthcare professionals, improving patient information and resources, and sharing knowledge with the broader community. She also advocated for the importance of sexual and reproductive health at both state and national levels. And she did this with wit, humanity, and exceptional expertise. Amy was a valued member of the ASPOG committee and community. In honour of Amy, this award seeks to recognize individuals who reflect her dedication, innovation, and impact in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
Purpose: This Award has been established to recognise and celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to improving patient experience and outcomes in the field of sexual and reproductive health. This award honours the late Dr Amy Moten's dedication and passion for advancing healthcare services, with a particular focus on innovation and impact.
Eligibility: This award is open to clinicians and researchers who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and achievement in the field of sexual and reproductive health service. Nominees may include individuals who have initiated innovative programs, conducted research that has changed health practice, implemented effective clinical practices, or contributed significantly to the improvement of patient experience.
Assessment Criteria:
Demonstrated impact on patient experience in sexual and reproductive health, resulting in tangible benefits for patients and communities.
Contribution to the advancement of sexual and reproductive health (this might include initiatives such as setting up clinics, implementing research findings, influencing clinical guidelines, advocacy, or other significant endeavours).
Innovation.
Nomination Process: Nominees may be submitted by peers, colleagues, supervisors, or self-nominated individuals. Nominations should include a detailed description of the nominee's contributions, impact, and relevance to the award criteria (nomination form can be downloaded here). Supporting documents, such as testimonials, publications, or project outcomes, may be included to strengthen the nomination (see guidelines below).
Selection Committee: The ASPOG executive committee will review nominations select the award recipient. The committee will consider the alignment of nominees' achievements with the award criteria and the significance of their contributions to patient care and outcomes.
Recognition: Winners of the Award will receive:
A certificate recognising their achievement.
A dedicated session at the ASPOG conference to present their work and share insights.
Includes Registration to the conference
Public acknowledgment and visibility through conference materials and communication channels.

Total Length: The application should not exceed 5 pages, excluding supporting documents.
Format Requirements: Applications must be typed in [specify font and size, e.g., Times New Roman, 12 point], single-spaced, with 2cm margins on all sides.
File Format: Please submit the application as a PDF file with a file name “SURNAME_AMAward2024.pdf”
Application Structure: Your application should include the following sections, clearly labeled with the headings provided:

a. Nominator's Details: Name, Nominee's Contact Information (email, phone number).
b. Nominee's Details: Name, Nominee's Contact Information (email, phone number).
c. Description of Nominee's Contributions: Describe in nominee’s notable contributions to sexual and reproductive health, including specific projects or initiatives.
Supporting Documents (in this order, max 4 pages):
a. Evidence of outcomes
b. List of publications
c. Testimonials
d. Other details or documents that substantiate the nominee’s contributions and achievements
